Findletar’s favourite blooms
Jamaican-born, Milan based multimedia artist Hugh Findletar will next month introduce new Flowerheadz vases at Bergdorf Goodman in Midtown Manhattan, as part of a group art show hosted by Spaceless Gallery in the department store’s home décor section.
The stunning, one-of-a-kind creations start at US$25,000, and Findletar encourages buyers to fill them with flowers. His suggestions? Cattail, anthurium, hydrangea and palmetto, which he says create arrangements that mimic dramatic hairdos.
Findletar was, until age eight, raised by his maternal grandparents and great-grandparents, who ran a banana and coffee farm in the parish of St Ann. His interest in flowers, he says, was a result of the many hours spent as a child in the garden with his grandmother.
