#WorldChamps2023: Jamaica out of mixed 4x400m final
Jamaica’s mixed 4x400m relay team are out of Saturday’s final after finishing fifth in heat two of the event at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The quartet of Demish Gaye, Natoya Goule, Malik James King and Stacey-Ann Williams finished fifth in a season’s best (SB) of 3:14.05.
They placed ninth overall and missed the non-automatic qualifying spot.
The United States, who recorded a world lead of 3:10.41, Great Britain and Nothern Ireland in a national record (NR) of 3:11.19, Belgium (3:11.81), Netherlands (3:12.12/SB), France (3:12.25/NR) and Czech Republic (3:12.52), Germany (3:13.25) and Ireland (3:13.90) qualified for the final of the event which will be held at 2:49 pm Jamaica time.
