#WorldChamps2023: Hibbert eyeing triple jump history in Budapest
Jaydon Hibbert is positioned to become Jamaica’s first medallist in the men’s triple jump, having punched his ticket to the final of the event in an impressive fashion at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary on Saturday.
The world leader leapt to a mark of 17.70 to ease over the qualifying standard of 17.15m, topping the qualifiers in the process.
In May, the 18-year-old produced a massive 17.87m to obliterate his own World Under -20 record at the NCAA South-eastern Conference, representing the University of Arkansas.
