Jaguars seek sixth-straight win in western basketball league
Granville Jaguars will be seeking a sixth-straight win in the Western Basketball Association Men’s Invitational League when they take on fellow title aspirants MoBay Boys Club Warriors at Montego Bay Cricket Club today, starting at 5:00 pm.
Granville are in fifth place on 11 points from six games, one point better than Warriors. A win for either team would see them move further up in the tables.
Cricket Club Knights and Catherine Hall All-stars are both tied on 14 points, followed by Muschett Falcons and Sav-Elite Titans on 12 points each, all four having completed their first-round schedule.
Browns Town Eagles are in seventh-place on eight points with a game in hand, while Falmouth Saints are in the last quarter-final spot on seven points with three games in hand.
Sav-Elite ended their first round on a high on Thursday, beating Falmouth Saints 66-58 with just six players suited up after trailing in the first quarter.
Rushane Drummond scored a double-double 18 points and 18 rebounds to lead Sav-Elite who trailed 13-16 after the first quarter, but took over the lead in the second quarter and led 28-25 at half-time and extended their lead in the third quarter to 48-43.
Alex Forbes scored 16 points for Sav-Elite while Richard Chambers and Androy Clarke both scored 13 points.
Aldane Anderson led Falmouth with a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds, Flawless Travers scored 13 points, while Ricardo Brooks contributed 10 points.
