Tasha T gets in on the celebrations
Recording artiste Tasha T kicked off this year’s ‘Emancipendence’ celebrations with a track titled Jamaica It Nice.
Produced by Heyman Entertainment and her own label RasVibe Records Inc, the track was officially released on August 1.
“Living overseas, I have been hearing so many negative things about Jamaica with the violence and crime. Because of this I wanted to do a song to highlight the positive aspects of Jamaica; focus on the positive things of Jamaica and the Jamaican people. I want to highlight the positive vibe that Jamaica brings — always on the map, people always want to learn patois, and I just want to remind the Jamaican people how important it is to be Jamaican,” the singer told the Jamaica Observer.
An accompanying music video, which was shot in Kingston by Reggae Tropics, was released along with the track.
The singer has great expectations for the song’s success.
“For this song, I hope that it becomes an anthem for the people. I want people to get to know more about Tash T,” she expressed.
Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Tasha T has stayed close to reggae music through her career which has spanned almost 20 years. The singer also lends her hand to philanthropy as the founder of the Tasha T Learning Foundation. She has hosted several events in Jamaica, such the third annual Red Gold and Green Affair in Port Royal at Gloria’s sports bar. Held on July 22, the event was well attended, with the positive vibes in full effect.
She signpost that her fans can expect big things from her with a host of appearances scheduled for the coming months.
Tasha T told the Jamaica Observer she is also working on new music which, in addition to Jamaica It Nice, will be featured on the singer’s upcoming 2024 album.
