Fashion brand Tribe Nine Studios, known for eclectic designs and seamless tailoring, opened its new fashion atelier, Thursday last.
The new fashion hub, strategically located in the heart of downtown Kingston, in the F&B building on Harbour Street, signifies a milestone in the journey of Tribe Nine Studios CEO Troy Oraine Williamson. Tribe Nine Studios was founded in 2018 and has quickly become a favourite among local and international clientele. The brand’s designs are inspired by Williamson’s Jamaican roots and feature bold colours, intricate patterns, and quality fabrics. With this grand opening, Williamson aspires to position Tribe Nine at the forefront of the city’s burgeoning renaissance of heritage and culture.
“A lot of people are usually sceptical about downtown, so it was very important to me to have a location here to have people travelling from uptown to downtown and see that it’s one Kingston and one Jamaica,” he expressed.
The grand opening of Tribe Nine Studios’ new studio also featured the launch of the brand’s new capsule collection, 7 Miles, inspired by the 7-mile stretch of coastline in Negril. It features a variety of beach-inspired garments. It’s safe to say that the new atelier is a major coup for downtown Kingston, and a symbol of the city’s ever-growing fashion scene.
