Let’s Start With…

Trinidadian relaxed luxury brand Meiling, fronted by fashion designer Meiling Esau, collaborated with fellow Trinidadian designer Zidelle Daniel for an exclusive black and white showing on July 14. The showcase by the two designers, dubbed ‘Tai Ji’, saw models ripping the runway in mix-and-match ensembles from both labels.

In Chinese philosophy ‘tai ji’ or ‘tai chi’ is a cosmological term for the ‘supreme ultimate’.

Meiling unveiled its SS24 Collection, Woodbrook, on Thursday, July 6.

The Woodbrook Collection is part-retrospective of Meiling’s renowned collections and part-tribute to the vibrant artisan community where her storied atelier is located. With a nod to the architectural heritage of the homes in this community, the collection is infused with timeless craftsmanship and signature details reminiscent of the fretwork of neighbourhood homes.
