Government says it was not involved in planning of Danielle Rowe’s funeral
Kingston, Jamaica – The Government was not involved in the planning of the funeral for 8-year-old Danielle Rowe, who was murdered in June.
According to a statement on Sunday, Minister of Education, Fayval Williams attended the funeral service in her official capacity as Minister and gave remarks. No other person from the government was engaged in the funeral.
Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that the funeral service for Rowe was chaotic and disorganised.
The government has again expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and has renewed calls for the police to step up their investigation into her murder.
Rowe was abducted from the Braeton Primary and Infant School in Portmore, St Catherine on Thursday, June 8 and was transported to Roosevelt Avenue in St Andrew where her throat was slashed. She was found along the roadway by a soldier who took her to the nearby Bustamante Hospital for Children where she died in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 10.
