Sumfest Blitz had staying power
Montego Bay is abuzz of excitement with the week-long festivities for Reggae Sumfest which continued Wednesday with Blitz.
Pulling patrons out for the all-black affair on the roster, it followed the Street Dance on Monday at Old Hospital Park and the All-White party on Tuesday at Pier One.
Blitz unfolded inside the new Harbour City Mall and patrons got a chance to take advantage of top-shelf bottle packages and Magnum bucket deals while being entertained by DJs Franco & Brush 1, Jigga, and Ashile. The DJs kept pace and built on the energy from each other’s set.
The excitement hit peak, though, with a performance from veteran dancehall artiste Frisco Kid delivering from his catalogue of hits including Rubbers, Gal Pon Di Side and Little and Cute.
Speaking on the strong turnout for the events thus far, DownSound CEO Joe Bogdanovich stated he was pleased with the turnout so far.
“We’re happy with the strong turnout and positive response so far as well as the diversity. We put a lot of planning and effort into building the events during the week and it is paying off. The All-White has always been a favourite among the patrons, Blitz as well. The Street Dance was phenomenal, and the vibe was awesome. Thursday night we’re looking forward to the Global Sound Clash and moving into the weekend for the festival nights,” Bogdanovich stated.
