Fraser-Pryce to run first 100m of season in Luzern on Thursday
Jamaican sprint queen Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is expected to run her first 100m of the season on Thursday when she participates in the Spitzen Leichathletik Luzern at Stadion Allmend in Switzerland, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver event.
The defending world 100m champion, who has a wild card in the event for next month’s World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, only ran the 200m at the recent national championships in Kingston.
Fraser-Pryce had been scheduled to start running the 100m earlier this season but picked up an injury while preparing for a meet in Nairobi, Kenya.
While the full start lists were yet to be published at the time of writing, one other Jamaican, 2019 100m hurdles World Champion Danielle Williams looks likely to take part in the meet as well as she has appeared in promotional photos and videos posted by the meet organsisers.
