Chris Brown’s ‘Influence’ booked
Ryan Burke, founder and CEO of The VEW Empire, says Chris Brown’s Under The Influence concert in Jamaica in August was developed in response to the high demand locally for international talent showcases.
The event, which will culminate the BZR Weekend August 25-27, will also see performances from Teejay, Ding Dong, Sean Kingston, and a few surprise guests.
“We listened to the consumers…after speaking with different promoters and consumers and concert donors, and they said that the person they wanna see most is Chris Brown. We reached out to Chris Brown and Chris Brown was very excited to be a part of the event and that’s how we got here,” Burke told the media at the official launch of the event at the AC Hotel Kingston on Friday.
Tickets for the show go on sale on Tuesday, July 18 with early-bird prices ranging from US$45 for Bleachers to US$15,000 for the limited edition Sky VEW Suites.
Birthed in Miami, Florida, BZR Weekend — the Jamaican edition is being spearheaded by Solid Agency, Burke Bodley, VEW Live, LLC + PLXYBOY, and Jay Upscale.
The full list of events for the weekend will include the invitation-only Haute Monde Jamaica, Memba Dis! Ultimate Ol’ Skool Party, Paradise Brunch Party, Indigo, and the Under The Influence concert.
It is expected that 45,000 patrons will be in attendance.
Burke also said that he anticipates a seamless experience for the concert.
“We pride ourselves on production and experience. So, we’re working very closely with our production team and Chris Brown’s production team to make sure you guys have the most memorable experience, ever,” he added.
Chris Brown last performed in Jamaica in 2010 as one of the international acts at Reggae Sumfest. The entertainer made local headlines following his energetic set which included a cameo appearance from Elephant Man.
