#NationalTrials: Williamson on top in Under-18 boys’ 400m semis
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Omaire Williamson of Holmwood Technical edged his competitors to win semifinal one of the Under-18 boys’ 400m at the National Senior and Junior Championships on Saturday.
Williamson clocked a time of 48.98 seconds.
He crossed the line ahead of Joshua Wint of William Knibb Memorial (48.99) and Antonio Powell of Edwin Allen High (49.01).
In heat two, it was Trevoy Smith of Herbert Morrison, who came out on top in 49.99. Jabari Matheson of Williams Knibb finished second in 50.07, while Excelsior High’s Kishawn Hoffman finished third in (50.11).
Demarco Bennett of Excelsior (49.10) and Petersfield High’s Shoy Clayton round out the eight finalists.
The final of the Under-18 boys’ 400m will take place on Sunday at 5:16 pm.
