Miss Cookie, Gujarat win second quarter of tipsters competition
Bernadette “Miss Cookie” Bishope and Anthony “Gujurat” Allen resumed their winning streak in the 2023 Capital Betting and Wagering Limited/Jamaica Observer Tipsters’ Competition by winning the second quarter.
Bishope dominated the Most Wins category, while Allen triumphed in the Monetary category. Both tippers, who were also first-quarter winners, received $20,000 each in prize money.
Bishope, who had won the first quarter by a two-win margin of 69-67 over two-time defending champion Ruddy “Kool Kat” Allen (Kool Kat), dominated the second quarter, winning comfortably by six victories. Bishope finished the quarter with 154 winners, followed by Allen with 148 and Ruddy Allen with 146.
Jason “Jah Son” Duncan finished fourth with 141 winners, five ahead of Leslie “Hot Spur” McLean, who finished fifth with 136 winners. Sherdon “The General” Cowan (with 135 winners), Kingsley “The Genius” Gentles ( with 135 winners), Donald “Sir Donald” Bahadur (with 124 winners), and Robert Bailey (with 113 winners) were the other tipsters.
Meanwhile, Allen finished with $23,012, topping Cowan, who finished with $21,497 to win the Monetary category.
Bahadur came in third with $21,104 and Duncan came in fourth with $18,544, with Bailey ($16,955), Gentles ($12,640), Bishope ($12,261), reigning champion Ruddy ($3,407), and McLean ($1,502) trailing.
The competition’s third quarter spans from July through September.
