Loyal Action, Burlap to decide Kuntsford Park Cup
The $1.02-million Knutsford Park Cup, a Restricted Allowance II contest, for native-bred three-year-olds (non-winners of two) and imported three-year-olds and upwards (maidens) going 6 furlongs (1,200m), is the feature race on tomorrow’s (Saturday, July 8) 10-race card.
Below is the analysis of the seven runners entered.
1. BURNING VALOR: (3 b c by Silent Valor – Burning Clearance) – Finished off the board in the recent 2000 Guineas Classic at a mile (1,600m). Burning Valor is projected to have more of an input and has the opportunity of revitalising his career. .
2. LOYAL ACTION: (3 b c by Western Warrior – Fast Action) – Finished fourth behind Strike Smart at 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m) on July 1. It was Loyal Action‘s first run in three months and, having benefitted from that pipe opener a much better effort is now expected.
3. DIGITAL LIGHT: (3 b f by Wannabeaplayer – Morning Grace) – Has no chance of winning this one.
4. PRETTY CAROLINE (USA): (3 b f by Flintshire – Caroline Victoria) – In her previous two appearances, she was expected to perform much better but failed to deliver a blow on both occasions. Pretty Caroline appears to have some talent and may run her best race in this one.
5. BURLAP: (3 b c by Casual Trick – Fedora) – Bolted and was declared a late non-starter at the races on July 1. Burlap is at ease here, and if everything goes as planned, he should come out on top.
6. GEOLITHIC (USA): (3 b f by Neolithic – Queen G) – A well-bred American filly making her debut. Geolithic is thought to be capable and may make a good impact on the first try.
7. EASY PEAZY: (3 b c by Casual Trick – Baby P) – Based on his last two runs, Easy Peazy cannot be recommended for a winning run.
