Danielle Sloley wins first shot put medal at CAC Games
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador— Jamaica’s thrower Danielle Sloley won the first medal of her senior career at the Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Games in El Salvador on Thursday.
Sloley, who is a former Immaculate High School standout, captured the silver medal in the women’s shot put event with a season’s best throw of 16.81m in the final.
The event was easily won by Rosa Ramirez of the Dominican Republic with a throw of 17.89m while the bronze medal went to Cuba’s Layselis Jimenez, who threw 17.79m.
