Last Sunday, July 2, the sounds of Afrobeats, soca, and dancehall reverberated throughout Hope Zoo for AfroSocaJam.
The final in the series, it will embark on a brief hiatus and return with season two which kicks off with AfroSocapendence.
The event encompassed a fusion of genres which proved a high-energy experience.
This blend was a magnet for a diverse audience in their pursuit of revelling in this auditory extravaganza.
Bedecked in vibrant African prints, individuals showcased the tapestry of African cultures manifested in self-expression.
One of the promoters, Marlon “Musique” Campbell, emphasised the allure of AfroSocaJam: “People are drawn to this oasis on Sundays due to the vibe. We will take a well-deserved, month-long break and return in late August.”
