Feminist hysteria?
Dear Editor,
There is an excessive focus on women and children in all societies, even in the Middle East, programmes exist to promote the well-being of children and women in business.
Contemporary societies treat men as disposable characters whose interests ought to be ignored. Anthropologists have been studying the male expendability thesis for some time, yet it has failed to garner public attention. Globally, men are disproportionately the victims of violent crimes, and in 2017 the then National Security Ministry Robert Montague announced that men were the primary victims of domestic violence. However, politicians and policymakers continue to be deluded by the lies of feminism.
Despite the propaganda of feminists, women are doing quite well. One factor responsible for the dominance of women at the tertiary level is that parents are willing to send their daughters to school but instruct their sons to go to work. Boys begin to labour quite early for the family and this is obvious as indicated by the high percentage of child labourers and windshield wipers who are men. Not only are boys sacrificed for the betterment of the household, but their cries for help are also ignored by society.
Jamaican men are also suffering from the effects of being initiated into early sexual encounters and, unfortunately, some think that it’s appropriate to reward boys for sleeping with older women. Feminists will continue to spout nonsense, although it is boys and men in Jamaica who are suffering, women just make a lot of noise.
Yes, some say women are underrepresented in business and science, but this is a consequence of personality differences rather than discrimination against women. If we rely on evidence instead of emotions, it becomes obvious that feminists are merely selling hysteria to the political and business establishments.
The truth is that the obsession with promoting women is becoming pathetic and it must stop.
