Handbag smaller than grain of salt sold at auction for over US$60,000
Mschf, the makers of the big red boots and sneakers with blood in them, has dropped another controversial item. This time it is a microscopic handbag. The fluorescent, lime-green bag is said to be smaller than a grain of salt.
According to Vogue, the bag was recently sold at Pharrell Williams’ auction for US$63,750 (J$9,116,250)
Called the Microscopic Handbag, Mschf’s itty-bitty bag is made of photopolymer resin that measures 657 by 222 by 700 micrometres. For scale, that’s comparable to about a speck of dust.
It takes the mini-bag trend to the next level. It’s so small it’s only slightly bigger than a crumb.
The miniature bag is modelled after Louis Vuitton’s monogram OnTheGo handbag; however, Mschf reportedly did not get permission from the French house, so it’s not an official collaboration.
The bag is viewable through a microscope, which also features a built-in digital display.
