Jamaica Crocs books spot in Rugby Sevens final at CAC Games
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – Jamaica’s men’s (Crocs) Rugby Sevens team booked their spot in the final earlier today after defeating Mexico 26-5 in the semi-final at the Central American And Caribbean Games in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The victory was sweet revenge for the Crocs, who had earlier lost in the preliminary round of the competition to the Mexicans.
The Crocs, who won bronze in the last tournament four years ago, are looking to win the gold medal for the first time in the country’s history.
Meanwhile, the Colombians, who are the favourites to win the competition, booked their place in the final with an easy 47-7 win over Venezuela.
The Lady Crocs will face Venezuela in the third place playoff at 4:12 pm (local time) and 5:12 pm Jamaica time.
