SO2 JUN 25 (PART 3)
Just A Bit More…
The quaint villa resort, Hermosa Cove in Ocho Rios, St Ann, was abuzz with excitement Thursday last, as Christopher’s, the award-winning restaurant located on the villa’s property, played host to an unforgettable birthday dinner for Rock-born, New York-based socialite Elaine Chambers.
Resident Chef Conroy Arnold presented a five-course dégustation menu, known as the Dubplate Express, designed to tantalise the taste buds and showcase the finest flavours of The Rock. It did not disappoint! In between intermittent breeze (futile, really, against the high humidity), lusty laughter and heartfelt toasts Chambers and her nearest and dearest raved about each course from the velvety smooth Mama Kid Pumpkin Soup, to the Quenelle of Smoked Marlin and Curried Goat Ravioli, exchanged anecdotes and journeyed down memory lane.
What’s a birthday without a cake! Chambers was surprised with a custom-designed birthday cake that featured a framed photo of her beloved son Christopher, created by cake maven Selena Wong. There were, too, Selena Wong cupcakes as, you guessed it, the lady of the hour, having blown out the candles, was determined to savour her birthday cake for as long as possible.
SO2 wishes Elaine Chambers many, many, many more years of health, happiness and retail therapy!
