Trelawny accountant found guilty of cabbie’s murder to be sentenced July 7
TRELAWNY, Jamaica -A sentence is scheduled to be handed down in the Trelawny Circuit Court on Friday, July 7 on 57-year-old accountant Phillip Whittaker, who was convicted for the 2018 murderof 43-year-old Trelawny taxi operator, Garfield Binloss.
Whittaker was found guilty by a panel of jurors when he appeared in the Trelawny Circuit Court earlier this month.
Chief Justice, Bryan Sykes is presiding in the matter.
The court heard that about 11:00 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018, Whittaker, a licensed firearm holder, shot and killed Binloss during a dispute in Falmouth.
Whittaker reported the incident to the Falmouth Police Station where he was held and subsequently charged after being interrogated in the presence of his attorney.
He is being represented in the Trelawny Circuit Court by Christopher Townsend.
