The Eternal Fathers Awards (EFAs) held its second annual staging at the AC Hotel Kingston on Sunday, aiming to change the negative perception about fathers in the country.
The awards ceremony, conceptualised by Anna Smith, saw Minister of Finance and the Public Service Dr Nigel Clarke delivering the keynote address and emphasising the importance of strong fathers in building strong families and communities. The event recognised fathers with honorary and compassionate awards, as well as awards in various categories, including community leadership, exemplary fatherhood for children with disabilities, mentorship, religious service, and more.
Christopher Hewitt was named Jamaican Father of the Year, while media personality Wayne “Wayne Marshall” Mitchell and educator Simon Brown received honorary awards for their contributions to society as model fathers.
