Everton’s Grey included in Jamaica’s Gold Cup squad

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Everton FC’s striker Demarai Gray has been included in Jamaica’s 23-man squad that will participate in the CONCACAF Gold Cup starting this weekend.

Gray has long been linked with the Reggae Boyz setup but only got his passport recently and was included in the team that was released by the head coach Heimir Hallgrímsson in Monday’s post-game press conference after a 2-1 loss to Jordan in a friendly international played in Austria.

As expected, English Premier League players Ethan Pinnock, Bobby Reid, Michail Antonio, and Leon Bailey were included, as was teenage player Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards, who played in both games during the camp in Austria.

The press conference was told that Pinnock is not expected to play in Saturday’s opening game against the USA in Chicago for personal family reasons.

The squad:

Goal-keepers – Andre Blake, Jamali Waite, Coniah Boyce-Clarke,

Defenders – Ammarii Bell, Ethan Pinnock, Di’Shon Bernard, Adrian Mariappa, Dexter Lembiska, Damion Lowe, Javain Brown, Kemar Lawrence

Midfielders- Kevon Lambert, Jonathan Russell, Joel Latibeaudiere, Bobby Reid, Daniel Johnson, Kaheem Paris.

Strikers-Michail Antonio, Shamar Nicholson, Leon Bailey, Cory Burke, Dujuan Richards, Demarai Grey
