Wales Bonner, helmed by Rock-blooded British fashion designer Grace Wales Bonner, and adidas Originals are collaborating once again, this time with a collection that explores the magic of Jamaican sport style and football apparel.
The latest unisex collection for spring ’23, titled “Land of Wood and Water”, takes vintage designs and reinvents them using premium materials and fresh colour combinations, aided with visuals of the much-loved game by Jamaicans. The edit includes a coordinated tracksuit in a mint green nylon fabric, an elevated knit tracksuit featuring the brand’s signature style, a striking silver anorak with matching shorts, and the introduction of a Jamaican symbol through a Harrington jacket and flared trouser set.
Other notable pieces include a towelling top and shorts ensemble, a roll neck sweater with a knitted geometric pattern, a sleeveless knitted sweater vest, a neutral-toned sweater and sweatpants set, as well as two vibrant short-sleeve cotton T-shirts.
This isn’t the first time Bonner has referenced her Jamaican heritage in collaboration with adidas. The pair’s spring 2021 Essence collection was inspired by the early 1980s era of reggae when dancehall music became a staple in Jamaica. This new collection is a follow-up to their first collab, which was previewed at Bonner’s fall 2020 show at London Fashion Week.
As we ease into Father’s Day celebratory mode, kick back, relax and view some classic adidas x Wales Bonner pieces.
