65-year-old woman on cocaine charge to be sentenced
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 65-year-old woman who was nabbed on cocaine charges is to be sentenced in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on June 21.
The court was told that on May 26, Valerie Reid was caught at the Norman Manley International Airport with four pounds of cocaine.
Reid pleaded guilty to the charges of possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, attempting to expert cocaine and conspiracy to export cocaine.
Senior Parish Judge, Lori-Ann Cole-Montaque ordered a social inquiry report for Reid.
Looking at the accused, the judge described the woman’s facial expression as a “deer in headlight.”
“Miss Reid, having pleaded guilty, you are to be sentenced on June 21,” Cole-Montaque advised her.
The woman was remanded until then.
