We agree, Minister Malahoo Forte
Dear Editor,
What a breath of fresh air it was hearing Minister Marlene Malahoo Forte in Parliament uttering her personal view in support of the right to life of pre-born Jamaicans!
We agree, Minister Malahoo Forte. We agree.
In recent days, it would appear that parliamentarians have forgotten the representational aspect of the politics being practised. With some members seemingly unapologetically set on altering the positive mores and values of Jamaican society and culture related to life, family, and sexuality without regard to the views of the Jamaican people they claim to represent.
Be reminded that the vast majority of Jamaicans support the retention of our abortion and buggery laws as well as those related to marriage and the recognition of two genders (male and female). Views espoused otherwise do not reflect the majority of well-thinking Jamaicans, regardless of how vocal they may be.
Be assured, Minister, your views, though rubbished by some, are celebrated proudly by the vast majority of Jamaican citizens in the month of June and every other month. Stand strong in the upholding of traditional Jamaican values.
We stand with you in this!
