MONTEGO BAY, St James – Cricket Club Knights won their fourth game in the Western Basketball Association Men’s Invitational League after coming from behind to beat Catherine Hall All Stars at the Montego Bay Cricket Club on Sunday. Meanwhile, Lady Warriors rebounded from a loss to beat Golden Ravens by three points in the women’s invitational.
Cricket Club Knights lead the men’s invitational with nine points from five games, four points ahead of Granville Jaguars. Muschett Falcons are third on three points, the same as Catherine Hall.
Lady Warriors are on top in the women’s league with five points, one more than Lady Elite1; Golden Ravens are next on two points and Lady Thunder are on one point.
Rayon Gardiner had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Knights who trailed by a point 11-12 after the first quarter. They took over the lead in the second quarter and led 27-22 at half-time and 49-31 after the third quarter.
Lemar Mitchell had a game-high 21 points, Andre Hill scored 11 points, and Alwyn Newsom scored 10.
Mikhail Smith scored 19 points for Catherine Hall and Odane Whittaker scored nine.
Muschett Falcons had an easy 58-26 win over Knibb Thunder in their Trelawny derby with Lamon Thompson scoring 16 points while Donjay Pearson and Akile Guthrie both scored nine.
Anthony Smith and Jemie Lee Gardner both scored seven points and Rhodane Ashman scored six points for Thunder.
Former national player Nicole Dias had a double-double 10 points and 14 rebounds to lead Lady Warriors who were up 9-1 after the first quarter, 13-9 at half-time but were behind 16-21 going into the fourth quarter where they outscored Ravens 10-2.
