Soulection, a Los Angeles-based music collective that serves as a platform and community for artistes, landed on The Rock on Saturday and set up console at Tacbar.
Based on patron feedback, the event, spearheaded by Joe Kay, co-founder of Soulection, and event organisers Jason Panton and Sven Vogtland, breathed new life into the city’s nightlife. “Soulection is a series from our brand, It’s Live From Jamaica. We wanted to curate meaningful and impactful music by bringing artistes who are in the international music industry to Jamaica. Joe Kay wanted to come to Jamaica and so we planned and organised with PJ Wright, [managing director] of Tacbar, to bring Soulection here and we plan to do more,” Panton said.
Music lovers from all corners of the globe came out to experience the unique range of music by deejays Joe Kay, Shaka Lion and Jazmine Nikitta. With their command of the deck the stage was set ablaze with a fusion of Afro, R&B, hip hop, dancehall, reggae and soca music resulting in an unforgettable experience for attendees.
