Show respect!
Dear Editor,
I am appealing to the US Ambassador to Jamaica N Nickolas Perry not to fly the LGBT flag at the US Embassy.
This flag symbolises disrespect for the law of God in the Holy Scriptures, which teaches that God made male and female, in the beginning of creation, so that they may, in adulthood, be joined by God in marriage for the purpose of reproduction and to train new humans to be godly.
God did not create sex in marriage for two people of the same gender — male and male or female and female — because they would not be able to reproduce and teach any child to be godly by their example as they are involved in a sexual relationship which God has forbidden.
This flag symbolises disrespect for the The Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms (Constitutional Amendment) Act, 2011, which says, concerning the status of marriage, “No form of marriage… other than the voluntary union of one man and one woman may be contracted or legally recognized in Jamaica” (section 18).
This flag also symbolises disrespect for the Offences Against The Person Act. According to section 76, “Unnatural Offences”, it says, “Whosoever shall be convicted of the abominable crime of buggery, committed either with mankind or with any animal, shall be liable to be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for a term not exceeding 10 years.”
Therefore, I am asking Ambassador Perry to show respect for God and His law, for the Jamaican Constitution and the Jamaican law by not flying the LGBT flag on the grounds of the US Embassy.
