WATCH: Huge crowd flocks to Krispy Kreme opening in Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Huge crowds flocked to the new Krispy Kreme on Waterloo Road in St Andrew as the doughnut franchise officially opened its doors in Jamaica on Saturday morning.
Lisa Lake, Group CEO of Restaurants Associates Limited, the local franchise holder of Krispy Kreme, said customers were in line from as early as 4am in order to be among the first 100 customers and win prizes of doughnuts on offer.
“We are very excited to welcome them, at last count we had over 300 people,” Lake told OBSERVER ONLINE, adding that an array of fun activities and musical entertainment were in store for patrons on the opening day.
Krispy Kreme is the latest addition to Restaurant Associates’ portfolio of brands which includes Burger King, Popeye’s and Little Caesar.
At the Waterloo location, doughnut lovers will be able to witness the journey of the freshly made pastry from start to finish through the Doughnut Theater and will be able to eat their hot and fresh doughnuts immediately after they are made, according to the company.
