Muhammad, Seville and Blake to miss highly-anticipated Racers Grand Prix
Young Jamaican sprinters Oblique Seville and Ackeem Blake as well as American 400m hurdles star Dalilah Muhammad have been forced to withdraw from the Racers Grand Prix.
The meet, which has been designated a World Athletics Continental Silver event, makes its highly-anticipated return on Saturday at the National Stadium, with a host of local and international stars set to compete.
World Championships 200m gold medal winner Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman as well as 100m hurdles World champion and world record holder Tobi Amusan (Nigeria) and 400m world record-holder Wayde Van Niekerk (South Africa) are among the high-powered overseas-based talent still expected to compete at the meet.
Sprinting superstar Shericka Jackson, hurdling standout Hansle Parchment, long jump star Tajay Gayle, sprint hurdler Megan Tapper and triple jumper Shanieka Ricketts will carry the Jamaican flag at the meet.
The Racers Grand Prix gets going at 6:00pm.
Tickets are still available for purchase at the Jamaica Pegasus and www.racersgrandprix.com.
Finish line tickets cost $5,000 with regular grandstand seats going for $3,000 and bleachers costing $1,000.
