A slap in the face
Dear Editor,
The recent proposals for the new salaries for parliamentarians are a vulgar disgrace.
This is a direct slap in the face to nearly 90 per cent of all Jamaicans who are suffering daily to make ends meet. Another demonstration that these 63 so-called kings and queens in Parliament have very little regard for most Jamaicans.
At a time when Jamaica is barely coming out of a terrible depression and salaries are being kept at between four and five per cent, we see a proposal for 150 per cent increase and more for those in Parliament.
This is unjust, unfair, and unreasonable and must be resisted and rejected by Jamaicans.
