You taught me
Dear Editor,
The months of the year, the days of the week, how to spell my name, how to properly speak, you taught me.
How to read, how to write, how to stay away from fights, you taught me.
The planets in the solar system, science, maths, and English, you taught me.
How to stand still in a corner, how to use a pencil sharpener, how to keep my head on the desk and whisper, you taught me.
The letters of the alphabet, the numerals on the clock I won’t forget, the subject and the predicate, you taught me.
How to not be ashamed, how to play the word game, how to treat my classmates, you taught me.
Common entrance, GSAT, or PEP, my side you never left, when my uniform had a little sweat,
you still taught me.
Smile is an emotion, take away is called subtraction, numerator and denominator are related to fractions, you taught me.
Sing alongs, counting with hands, using pencils and crayons, you taught me.
Green bottles on the wall, Humpty Dumpty made a great fall, two times, three times, you taught me them all.
How to pray, how to play, how to correct my mistakes, how to have fun, how to study, how to dance infront of everybody, you taught me.
Thank you, Miss, thank you, Sir, you are the most valuable in the universe.
Happy Teachers’ Day.
