Cops probe inmate’s death at St Catherine prison
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— Police are probing the death of a prisoner at the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre in Spanish Town Wednesday morning.
The inmate, identified as 45-year-old Christopher Locke, otherwise called ‘Oliver’, is from Nelson Street in Kingston 12.
The police say they are investigating the death to determine whether foul play is suspected. The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is reportedly awaiting a report on the incident.
Information reaching OBSERVER ONLINE is that around 11:30 am, Locke was among other prisoners playing a game of domino at the facility when he fell ill.
It is understood that he was rushed to the facility’s medical centre, where he was pronounced dead.
The Spanish Town CIB is investigating.
