Lady Donna plugs Osujah Records
AS she launches her label’s 2023 campaign, Donna “Lady Donna” Burnett of Osujah Records is banking on the “Most High” to help its artistes make an impact.
The company’s latest projects are Cook A Pot by Buzz Weh and Making Progress by Mystic Warrior.
Cook A Pot was released in April, while Making Progress has been out since March.
“My plan for this year is to proceed with confidence. Jah has placed a lamp at my feet, and shines His light on my path. Jah has cast a pebble in the waters surrounding me, and I am riding the waves. Yes I. Just riding Jah waves,” said Lady Donna in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.
Buzz Weh is from St Mary, with Mystic Warrior originally from St Ann, where Lady Donna launched Osujah Records seven years ago. Since then, she has worked with several homegrown acts and, although the hit single has been elusive, there is no frustration.
“I am a humble and obedient servant of the Almighty. My desire is His desire, and I work toward His goals, making the progress that He designs, within His time frame,” she stated. “When the enemy tries to sow seeds of doubt, the Almighty is quick to reassure and validate through His words as found in Mystic Warrior’s Making Progress. The details surrounding this production was a divine lesson in humility, patience, and perseverance.”
Lady Donna, who was born and raised in west Kingston, also contributes to Osujah Records as an artiste. Her song, Self Reliance, was released last summer.
