Buckingham beat Pinnacle Academy 7-0 in U-13
ST JAMES, Jamaica— Buckingham Primary opened their quest in the St James Football Association Victoria Mutual Foundation Under-13 competition with a big 7-0 drubbing of Pinnacle Academy in their Zone D game played at Wespow Park in St James on Thursday.
Kevan Edwards scored the competition’s first hat trick to lead the Buckingham Primary team, while Jayquan Allen scored a brace as they took the lead in the zone.
Edwards scored in the 10th, 35th and 46th minutes, while Allen scored in the third and the 21st minutes. Rushane Powell scored in the 19th minute and Shemar Maxwell got the seventh goal for Buckingham in the 60th minute.
Meanwhile, former champions Corinaldi Avenue Primary edged Irwin Primary 2-1 in their Zone B game.
Shevan McIntosh’s early double gave Corinaldi Avenue the edge after he scored in the 11th and 13th minutes while Joel Murray gave Irwin Primary hope when he scored in the 31st minute.
The game between Catherine Hall and St James Prep was postponed until Monday, April 24.
The competition started on Wednesday with two games. Barracks Road Primary beat Chetwood Primary 5-0 while defending champions Granville and Howard Cooke drew 0-0.
Three more games will be played today, Mt Salem vs Lethe starting at 10:00 am, followed by Flankers vs Barrett Town with Success against Farm playing in the final game of the day.
