Roots Rock dining at S Hotel

Thursday Food checked into the chic S Hotel in Montego Bay last Friday to experience the culinary offerings from the trendsetting all-inclusive boutique hotel on the city’s famed Hip Strip (Jimmy Cliff Blvd).

The sophisticated 120-room, Alison Antrobus interior-designed space now boasts two new restaurants, Roots Rock and Jamrock, in addition to an upgraded Rocksteady that now features Italian cuisine.

Roots Rock Restaurant

The Roots Rock Restaurant serves local fare with décor elements celebrating The Rock’s impressive music heritage. This burst of colour in an otherwise monochromatic colour scheme is indicative of the rich Jamaican flavours. Indeed, dining feels as if you’re at a street dance with the food to match. Menu items include appetisers such as coconut crusted shrimp, jerk chicken spring rolls and jerk barbecue sliders. Entrées include must-haves like curried chicken, coconut bean stew, jerk chicken and pork, and cornmeal pudding for dessert.

Jamrock Restaurant

The Jamrock Restaurant is a grill lovers’ paradise, and all things grilled include vegetable salads, New York sirloin, ribeye, salmon, shrimp, pork chops and the S Burger. The sweeping views of the ocean and poolside deliver a complementary backdrop for the succulent dishes.
