Kudos to Kiwanis Club of Spalding-Christiana!
Dear Editor,
I wish to publicly commend President Jervine Richards and all the members of the Kiwanis Club of Spalding-Christiana for the wonderful Easter project it conducted within the community of the mentally ill, of which I am a member.
President Jervine and her team walked the streets of Spalding and Christiana and handed out care packages of bun and cheese along with drinks and water to all the mentally ill people on the streets and in the community. The team also visited the Percy Junor Hospital and presented the mental health patients with care packages as well.
Easter is a period of reflection, renewal, and rebirth centred around Jesus’s life and ministry. The compassion and kindness shown by the Kiwanians mirrors Jesus’s life. On behalf of all the mentally ill people in Christiana and Spalding who were impacted by this caring initiative, I want to express thanks and appreciation to the Kiwanians for their thoughtfulness and generosity.
Certainly, if we are going to improve the quality of life within the community of the mentally ill, we will need the quality of care shown by the Kiwanians. The word is always love!
