Man accused of shooting at cops in custody, firearm seized
A motorcyclist, who reportedly fired at the police during a traffic stop on Slipe Pen Road in Kingston, was taken into custody. A firearm was also seized.
The man, said to be a higgler from West Kingston, was reportedly held after he crashed his motorcycle.
Information reaching OBSERVER ONLINE is that around 4:15 pm, the man was seen driving a motorcycle along Slipe Pen Road from William Street when he was signalled to stop.
He reportedly disobeyed the police signal, brandished a firearm and opened fire at the lawmen. The police stated that they did not return fire.
The man’s motorcycle then crashed, and he reportedly fled the scene but was held later.
A Glock pistol with thirteen 9mm rounds was seized from him. The motorcycle was also seized.
No one was injured during the incident, the police said.
