Lasco donates $400,000 to Jamaica Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Churches
TRELAWNY, Jamaica – The Jamaica Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Churches received a $400,000 donation from Lasco Financial Services on Thursday, during the hosting of the five-day Inter-American Division (IAD) of Seventh-day Adventists (SDA) fifth Pathfinder Camporee in Trelawny.
In addition to the cash donation, Lasco also provided iCool water for the police on duty at the camporee, along with gift items and Lasco food baskets.
Meanwhile, members of the The Lasco group were presented with copies of book, The Great Controversy by Ellen G White, following a symbolic handing over of the $400,000 cheque.
The five-day camporee, which has attracted delegates and youth leaders, ages 10 to 15, from 24 countries across areas such as North America, Europe, and Africa, got underway at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium on Tuesday.
Culture Minister Olivia Grange and mayor of Falmouth, Councillor C Junior Gager, participated in the opening ceremony of the camporee Tuesday evening.
