$200-M road rehabilitation project in Trelawny from Deeside to Wakefield almost complete
TRELAWNY, Jamaica – The $200-million rehabilitation project on the Wakefield to Deeside leg of the pothole-riddled 14-mile corridor that extends from Falmouth to Spring Vale in Trelawny is almost complete.
In August last year, Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Everald Warmington, broke ground for the multi-million dollar road project.
The project to rehabilitate the four-kilometre stretch is being implemented by the National Works Agency (NWA), under its Maintenance of Secondary Roads Programme.
Last week, community relations officer at the NWA’s Western Office, Janel Ricketts outlined that outstanding work on the project includes construction of a sidewalk in the vicinity of the Hastings Primary School in Deeside, as well as finishing touches to a few drains ìn the area.
Meanwhile, she also revealed that a $18 million project to rehabilitate the road from Deeside to Dromilly has commenced.
