Party with Varian Di Best
Since making his recording debut three years ago, Varian Di Best has rolled out a series of party songs, the type he believes keeps a dance rocking throughout.
The deejay lives up to his reputation with Gyal And Medz, his second album, which was recently released.
Based in New York City, he is currently promoting three songs from the set — Live And Go On, Is it That Hard, and Pride and Ego.
Gyal And Medz, he noted, is “a mix of female songs and reality”.
He released his first album, #Next Baddest, in 2021.
Varian Di Best told the Jamaica Observer that he went for more hard-core themes this time around to appeal to dancehall fans, especially in Jamaica.
“Dancehall music is what I do, not because I’m based overseas means my culture changes. Jamaica is my forever home and my forever culture,” said he explained.
Raised in some of the toughest areas in Kingston, including Spoilers (in central Kingston), August Town and Duhaney Park, as well as Spanish Town, Varian Crossfield (his real name) was drawn to dancehall from an early age.
Still, he said he was never influenced by a particular performer.
“I listen to every artiste and take a bit from every and any one,” he said.
He made his recording debut in 2020 with Soca Party, produced by Foxy D Production.
The following year, the 15-song #Next Baddest was released.
