#Champs2023: Nkrumie anchors KC to relay win
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A blistering anchor leg run from Bouwahjgie Nkrumie carried Kingston College to a come from behind win in the boys’ Class 1 4x100m relays on Saturday’s final day of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
A number of teams were tightly bunched at the final exchange but Nkrumie who ran a new national junior record of 9.99 seconds to win the Class 1 100m title on Wednesday, ran away to win the event easily in 40.01 seconds.
St Jago High was second in 40.40 seconds and Edwin Allen High was third in 40.59 seconds.
Calabar High with individual goal medallist Shaquane Gordon won the Class 2 final with a fine 40.41 seconds, beating Kingston College- 40.58 seconds and St Elizabeth Technical third with 40.74 seconds.
St Jago High won Class 3 with 43.11 seconds, ahead of Wolmer’s Boys’- 43.12 seconds and Kingston College third in 43.21 seconds.
