#Champs2023: Kobe Lawrence ends high school career with big win
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Calabar High’s World Under-20 Championships silver medallist Kobe Lawrence ended his high school career on a high with a big win in the Class 1 boys’ shot put event at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Lawrence, who will defend his CARIFTA Games Under-20 title next weekend in the Bahamas, threw 19.49m to win by more than two metres with St Catherine High’s Rajay Hemmings second with 17.40m and Jamaica College’s Racquil Broderick third with 17.35m.
Lawrence improved on his second place from last year when he was the runner up to Edwin Allen’s Christopher Young.
