Lyrical Shaw, given name James Shaw, is anticipating a warm reception to his version of Love Has Found Its Way when it is released on March 30.
The Spanish Town-born singjay, who grew up in Seaforth, St Thomas, says he has been a lifelong fan of Brown, who was dubbed The Crown Prince of Reggae.
“Growing up as a youth in Jamaica during the 70s and 80s it was impossible to go anywhere and not hear Dennis Brown’s music. I’ve been a Dennis Brown fan since I was a little boy. I love all of his songs, especially Love Has Found Its Way. He made a lasting impact on the world because of the quality of his music. His vocals were amazing, which added a mesmerising quality to all of his songs. He was a truly great singer,” Shaw said.
“I’m no Dennis Brown, but I did a very good job on this recording. I am confident that it will receive a warm reception when it’s released later this month on my Lyrical Shaw Music label,” he said.
Some of Lyrical Shaw’s other songs are It’s A Party, Unfaithful, Dem Lazy, and When You’re Wrong.
