Book launches are a big deal for every author, and so it was for Nicolette Peterkin too. Last Saturday, at Earls Court in St Andrew, the first-time author launched her series of educational stories for kids,
Peterkin, who studied actuarial science at the University of Technology, Jamaica, and then went on to acquire a master’s in big data and business intelligence at Escuela de Negocios Europea de Barcelona, and a doctor’s degree in business administration and management from UNICAF, shared that she always loved writing, but never thought it would translate into publishing books.
“To put it in perspective, I have degrees in mathematics, and that’s not really the traditional path of becoming a writer,” she said. “Today, I am proud to announce the publication of my first kids’ book series. I hope to inspire children to learn and grow, and to show them that they can achieve their dreams no matter what path they choose.”
Naturally, the launch attracted Peterkin’s friends and family, as well as eager little ones who couldn’t wait to get their hands on a signed copy.
