Herbert Morrison hunt fourth-straight girls’ basketball win
HOLLAND, Trelawny — Herbert Morrison Technical will hope to extend their perfect win record in the ISSA Western Conference Girls Open basketball competition today when they take on Holland High School at Holland, starting at 2:00 pm.
Herbert Morrison won their third-straight game on Monday, beating Muschett High 56-9, led by a triple-double from Nejron Stephenson and a double-double from Taveena Clarke, while Holland High won their second-straight game, 41-18, over Mt Alvernia High.
Also today, Mt Alvernia High face William Knibb Memorial in the first game of a double-header at Irwin Meadows, followed by Irwin High against Muschett.
On Monday, Herbert Morrison demolished Muschett High in the second half as they rolled to yet another lopsided win, leading 16-4 after the first quarter and were up 28-9 at half-time and 45-9 after the third quarter.
Stephenson scored 15 points, had 11 rebounds and 10 steals, Clarke scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds while Dandreika Whittingham led all scorers with 20 points.
At Holland, the home team handed Mt Alvernia their second loss with an easy win, outscoring the Montego Bay school 8-2, 22-9 and 28-10 over the first three quarters.
