Kingston, JAMAICA – One of the accused in the long running Klansman gang trial was freed by the trial judge, Chief Justice Bryan Sykes.

According to the trial judge on Tuesday, the evidence against Carl Beech brought by the Crown was not sustained in the evidence brought to underpin the counts with which he had been charged.

This now leaves 26 individuals before the trial judge who is in the final moments of the case.

The Crown earlier in the trial had conceded its case under count 12 on the indictment against Beech. The count was concerned with the alleged murder of an individual called ‘Outlaw’ in 2017.

It had also conceded in respect of count 11 which had charged Beech with facilitating that murder.

Justice Sykes said since those two counts against Beech had failed and there was no other evidence against him in the case to prove that he was a member of the gang, then count two under which he had remained on trial could not stand.

Hence, he declared Beech not guilty.

He said Beech, who left the courtroom without fanfare, was “free to go unless the police” had other reasons for detaining him.

OBSERVER ONLINE understands that Beech will remain behind bars as he’s answering charges related to another matter.
