Fugitive nabbed in Portland after six years on the run
PORTLAND, Jamaica — A wood carver, who was on the run for six years, was nabbed after he returned to Jamaica and went back to his Charles Town residence in Portland.
Fifty-two-year-old Courtney Emanuel Nelson is expected to be brought before the courts soon to face charges of wounding with intent.
Nelson, who is also called Tudo, allegedly used a machete to chop 27-year-old Dushane Simpson during an altercation between them about 6:00 am on April 17, 2017. The incident took place at Nelson’s house.
According to the police, a quarrel escalated into a fight during which Nelson used a machete to chop Simpson on his left hand and left hip.
Simpson was treated and hospitalised in serious but stable condition.
Nelson then fled the area and went overseas. He recently returned.
On Wednesday, lawmen raided his house and took him into custody. He was charged after questioning.
