Kabaka Pyramid wins Grammy for Best Reggae Album
LOS ANGELES – Kabaka Pyramid walked away as Grammy winner for the Best Reggae Album with ‘The Kalling’ at the 65th Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles today.
The first-time Grammy winner thanked all parties in a short but emotional speech and thanked everybody for “supporting Reggae music’.
Pyramid also dedicated his album to the late Jo Mersa, who passed away in December and thanked Damian Marley for producing it.
Other nominations for the Grammy included ‘Gifted’ by 2019’s winner Koffee, ‘Scorcha’ by Sean Paul, ‘Third Time’s The Charm’ by Protoje, and ‘Com Fly Wid Mi’ by two-time Grammy winner Shaggy.
This was the first time in two years the nominations list for Best Reggae Album is completely Jamaican.
